Plasterwork has been used for practical and decorative purposes since the ancient times of the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians. From mouldings to ornamentation, columns to cornices, the beauty of architecture is in the details.

Please join the ICAA to explore the art and craft of traditional ornamental plasterwork at the studio of Lorna Kollmeyer. For over 35 years, Lorna Kollmeyer Ornamental Plaster has worked in restoration and custom design to lend beauty, distinction and character to homes and commercial projects in San Francisco and the Bay Area. "For those of us with a passion for architecture and a reverence for good design, conscientious restoration is assumed as a joyful responsibility. It is a noble undertaking to preserve the integrity of the buildings loved by us, and so many before us, for future generations."

Lorna Kollmeyer will lead this special studio tour talking about her involvement with and history of ornamental plasterwork, culminating in a demonstration of the art of plaster casting.

Optional no-host lunch post-tour at the Storehouse!
