Education

Education

The Northern California Chapter offers a wide variety of educational courses in the ICAA’s core curriculum and related subjects for professional development, students, and personal enrichment.

CONTINUING
EDUCATION

Our evening and weekend courses are designed to introduce professionals and students to the skills, knowledge, and resources essential to the practice and appreciation of classical design.

WORKSHOPS

Educational workshops give hands-on instruction in the foundations of classical elements, proportion and perspective, to advanced sketching and watercolor rending techniques.

NEW HEIGHTS

In 2018, the Chapter launched its first New Heights week-long emersion study program for middle school students. Courses introduced students to fundamental concepts of building, design, and architectural language to help students develop observational, creative, and critical skills to engage the built environment.

PROFESSIONAL
INTENSIVE

Northern California hosted its first regional Professional Intensive in 2019. The Intensive is an eight-day immersion program in the ICAA core curriculum designed for professionals and students with limited time, who seek a methodical introduction to the language of classical architecture.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Northern California Chapter Board of Directors has established scholarships for professionals, emerging professionals and students to pursue classical study at the ICAA in New York and regional intensives. Scholarships include the Suzanne Tucker Design Scholarship in Interior Architecture & Design open to students, emerging professionals, and professionals in Interior Design regardless of region, and the Northern California Chapter Scholarship for students, emerging professionals, and professionals in Architecture, Landscape Design, and the Allied Arts who reside within the state of California.
